May 6th Tech Seminar Report: Industrial Internet Platform and China’s Practice

—By Xin Wang

On May 6th, 2023, DFWCIA hosted an online membership meetup: Industrial Internet Platform and China’s Practice.

In the beginning of the meetup, the DFWCIA VP of Operation Jessie Du introduced our organization and introduced our speakers Yingyuan Jiang and Zhonghai Su. Yingyuan is a graduate student in computer science at the University of Texas at Dallas, and Zhonghai Su is a PhD candidate of School of Management at Zhejiang University.

During the session, Yingyuan introduced the concept of Industrial Internet, which integrates various industrial data sources, including machines, sensors and other IoT devices. The goal is to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality through the use of advanced digital technologies. The architecture of the Industrial Internet includes Application layer, Platform layer, IaaS layer and Edge layer. Yingyuan also introduced the Industrial data classification and collection. Zhonghai introduced his research regarding data enabling and digital industrial platform development. He also introduced the pathways to IIP and the comparisons of these different pathways.

This meetup is the first time we discuss an industrial internet platform, which involves both technical parts and management discussions. The discussion is very in depth since it’s based on Zhonghai’s doctoral research and dissertation. We’re honored to have Yingyuan and Zhonghai as our speakers and share their published research about Industrial Internet Platform and China’s Practice.
