Texas Dragon Toastmasters Club and DFW Chinese IT Association had jointly hosted a communication seminar on March 14, 2021. The seminar’s objective is to inspire our IT Professionals to improve their communication skills and become effective communicators.
Grace Tyler, the founder of Dragon Toastmasters, and four of her club members gave a twenty-minute speech on various topics. Grace shared Warren Buffett and her personal stories on how public speaking transformed their lives. Minkai Wu from Capital One gave an excellent presentation on how to deliver a killer product demo your product deserves. Jan Benmard from American Airlines shared practical tips on facilitating a meeting and using common body language; Yanping Chen from Goldman Sachs gave a fantastic presentation on how to speak up effectively in meetings. At last, Shuming Liu from SiriusXM shared his story on how public speaking changed him.
All the speakers did an amazing job and demonstrated their rocking public speaking skills! Their stories are very inspiring, and the tips they shared are very practical in our daily work. The audience learned a lot in a short time.
