Terms and Conditions
By participating in 2025 IT Talent Champion Competition(“Event”), you agree to the following terms and conditions:
Terms and Conditions By participating in the 2025 DFWIT AI Competition (“Event”), you agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 14+ residing in regions where the event is legally allowed.
- Entry: Registration and project submission must occur through the official website or designated links. Submissions must be original and respect the intellectual property of others.
- Guidelines: Participants must adhere to event rules, timelines, and platforms designated by the Event Committee. Teams should consist of 3–5 members.
- Judging Criteria: See “Judging Rules” below.
- Prizes: Details will be listed on the official website (dfwit.org).
- IP Rights: Participants retain ownership but must agree to terms under the Intellectual Property Rights Agreement.
- Disqualification: The Committee reserves the right to disqualify participants who violate rules or engage in inappropriate, fraudulent, or illegal conduct.
- Liability: Organizers are not liable for technical errors, entry issues, or damages arising from participation. Participation constitutes agreement to release organizers from liability.
- Privacy: Personal data collected will be used only for event administration and promotion.
- Governing Law: The event is governed by the laws of Texas, USA.
Intellectual Property Rights Agreement
- Contributors including originators, developers, testers, and managers may be listed as license holders.
- You warrant that the Software is your original work and agree to license it under the MIT License.
- You grant the organizers a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to use and distribute the Software, with these conditions: a. Include a copy of the MIT License as approved by the Committee b. Retain copyright and notices c. Include a disclaimer of warranty and liability
- You agree to indemnify the organizers against any legal claims relating to IP or breach of this agreement.
- This Agreement supersedes prior communications and is governed by Texas law.
Judging Rules
Evaluation Metrics
Projects will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Innovation, Creativity & Real-World Value
- How original is the idea?
- How well does it translate cutting-edge AI into practical use?
- Does it solve a meaningful problem or open new opportunities?
- Development Completeness & Functionality
- Does the prototype work as intended?
- Is the demo polished, usable, and technically sound?
Opportunity Beyond the Competition
Projects that successfully demonstrate a viable PoC may get the opportunity to speak directly with real venture capitalists (VCs) to:
- Get expert feedback
- Explore feasibility of building an MVP
- Discuss product-market fit, funding strategies, and next steps
